Job Searching & Interviewing

For many candidates it has been many years since they had to find or apply for a job. Some candidates have probably never been on a job interview or know what to expect. That is why Providence Staffing helps candidates learn how to search for their job of choice on their own.  We coach and train our candidates on how to navigate through job search boards and job postings to find the job they desire. Once we help the candidate identify their job of choice we also help and train them on how to apply for a job position successfully. Providence Staffing also requires each candidate in our programs to participate in mock interview sessions. The purpose of our mock interview sessions is to help our candidates articulate their thoughts, increase their confidence, and to prepare them on what to expect during the interview. 


Professionalism & Workplace Ethics

Providence Staffing understands a lot of people have been told you need to act professional at work but no one has actually taught them what it means to be a professional. As part of our career training program, we train our candidates on what it means to act professional and we also coach candidates on workplace ethics. The goal of Providence Staffing is not just to help the transitional population find a job, but to help them keep the job they have while also reducing their chance of recidivism. 


Accepting Diversity in the Workplace

Many members of the transitional population are transitioning back into a society where the people of the community are totally diverse which is much different than the population they have been around. Some people have a problem with accepting and working with people that have different demographics than them and that issue hinders them from being successful in the workplace. Therefore, to overcome this issue for the transitional population Providence Staffing offers diversity training to all candidates in their program. The diversity training helps candidates to be able to accept and work with an individual no matter what that individual demographic may be. 


Sexual and Workplace Harassment Awareness

Sexual Harassment is something that all members of the transitional population need to be aware of and that there is zero tolerance for it in the workplace.  Being aware and trained on what sexual harassment is and how it is perceived in a workplace environment will help eliminate some issues that could happen in the workplace for the transitional population. We teach our candidates on the two types of sexual harassment so they can have a clear understanding on what is not accepted in the workplace. We also teach our candidates about workplace harassment and train them on how to avoid it. 


Providence Staffing provides professional resume and cover letter writing for each candidate in their program.  We provide candidates one on one time with their career coach to help identify their skill sets to generate their resume. Providence Staffing also coaches and trains candidates on how to create a cover letter specifically for the job they desire.

Providence Staffing understands sometimes members in the transitional population do not have the proper attire to wear for a job interview or the job they want. Therefore, to overcome this issue we provide stipends to our candidates in need of business attire once their job interview has been confirmed. We do this to ensure that they are at least properly dressed for the interview which will better increase their chances of getting the job. We also offer a monthly dress for success seminar which includes topics such as how to tie a tie, how to properly iron clothes, how to dress for certain occasions, and a few other topics.

For many members in the transitional population finding reliable transportation to work can be a major hindrance with getting to work on time and maintaining a job. Therefore, to overcome these issues, candidates in the program for a small fee can use Providence Staffing driving services. Our services are much cheaper than a cab fee and the transportation is more reliable and punctual than the bus route. The driving service is in place to ensure our candidates maintain their place of employment which subsequently will reduce their chance for recidivism. Our driving service partner is Southeastern Regional Driving & Safety Academy. Together we help our candidates receive their driver licenses.

The ultimate goal for Providence Staffing is to get individuals  to support themselves financially. We know having a place of employment to go to on a routine basis is something members of the transitional population need to successfully complete the transition back into society. That is why we at Providence Staffing  do everything in our power to help every candidate that walks through our doors land a job. We work closely with our candidates to identify their needs and wants then take that information to find them a job they will be good at and like doing.
